William F. Brittle, P.E., F.SEI, F.ASCE
Region 2 Governor-Elect
Among the duties of the Region Governor is to attend meetings of the Sections, Branches, Councils, student organizations, technical and professional groups and Younger member Groups. During these visits, the Region Governor, should use these opportunities to ensure that the organization has the greater focus of being global leaders. Often, that could start with community outreach activities that improve quality of life issues and could extend to participation by members in Engineers without Borders or Bridges to Prosperity type projects. Leadership in building a better quality of life should also involve becoming active in the social and political arena and becoming involved in policy and decision-making processes. The Region Governor can play an important role in the encouragement to the Region’s organizations to go beyond providing only educational and networking activities.
