On June 21, 2012, all 33 ASCE journals and more than 300 ASCE conference proceedings were migrated to ASCE Library’s new website, supported by Atypon’s Literatum™ platform. The ASCE Library URL will remain http://ascelibrary.org.
Key Dates
December 31, 2013 – Deadline to Download Archival Usage Statistics
Temporary access to archival usage statistics from the old platform will be available through December 31, 2013. A link to these archival usage statistics will appear on your Library Administrator Portal webpage on the new platform. We strongly advise that you download and save these reports to your institution’s server before the December 31, 2013 deadline, after which time you will no longer have access to archival usage statistics generated by your institution before migration to the new platform.
New URLs
URLs for both journal and proceedings landing pages have changed and libraries are encouraged to update their institutions’s OPACs. Download lists for both:
ASCE Journals
ASCE Proceedings
Access
Access for subscribing institutions will be initiated from the new ASCE Library platform on June 21, 2012. Access control for institutions will not be affected by the migration. Institutions with current active licenses will authomatically integrate into the new platform without the need for libraries to activate IP addresses again. Trusted proxy server information as well as all server links and link text for Open URL will migrate to the new platform. Libraries should check their access after June 21 to ensure subscribed titles are visible and report any problems to us at Journals Marketing.
Link Format
The new ASCE Library platform supports DOI, OpenURL, and direct links to ASCE Library stable URLs for ASCE journals and proceedings.
Metadata Availability
Metadata for ASCE journals and proceedings will be available directly from ASCE for incorporation in discovery services for vendors with whom ASCE currently has an agreement. If you are interested in receiving this data, please contact Journals Marketing.
If current vendors that have agreements with ASCE to metadata or full-text have questions about future data deposits, they should contact Journals Marketing.
Usage Statistics
Usage statistics for ASCE journals and proceedings are COUNTER 3-compliant, and will be available to institutions through your Library Admin Portal webpage on the new platform. The Library Admin Portal allows librarians to manage access for their institution, including specifying IP ranges, uploading banner art and text, and running COUNTER and holding reports. MARC 21 records are also available. ASCE will email instructions for registering as a Library Administrator to your institution contact on, or just after, the time of launch. Administrators must register on the website in order to access the admin tool.
For usage statistics generated on the old Scitation® platform, ASCE will continue to provide access to them via a link on your institution’s library administrator portal webpage through December 31, 2013. We strongly advise that you download and save these reports to your institution’s server before the December 31, 2013 deadline, after which time you will no longer have access to archival usage statistics generated by your institution before migration to the new platform.
