ASCE Press Authors and Prospective Authors
ASCE Press publishes scholarly and practical books on all aspects of civil engineering, applying rigorous standards to the expertise, research, readability, and attractiveness of every one of its titles. Books published with the ASCE Press imprint are written under direct contract with the authors or editors. For you as an author, ASCE Press offers the opportunity to contribute to the education, scholarship, and advancement of the civil engineering profession, as well as a royalty structure that is competitive with commercial publishers.
Editorial Excellence
Every ASCE Press book goes through two rounds of anonymous peer review—first as a proposal and then as a complete draft manuscript—as well as intensive internal review. When your book proposal is under contract, you will work with your Acquisitions Editor to develop a manuscript that meets the highest standards of technical and editorial excellence. Later, after you have completed the final draft, the Books Production Manager will guide you through the production process as your book is copyedited, typeset, and printed as an appealing, competitive volume.
Marketing
Each ASCE Press book benefits from an individualized marketing plan that is tailored to deliver the book to its target audience. By making use of the current array of marketing techniques as well as the ASCE membership database of more than 135,000 members, ASCE Press books reach the people who want and need them most.
Wide Availability
ASCE Press books can be found in technical and professional libraries and bookstores, corporate information centers, government agencies, and on required reading lists at leading colleges and universities. ASCE Press publications remain in print as long as they are useful and relevant, sometimes for many years after their introduction, when other publishers would have declared a title "out of print."
