Nazir Lalani, P.E., M.ASCE, is President of Traffex Engineers Inc. Ventura, California, a transportation consulting firm which offers a unique blend of transportation, local agency, technical training and expert witness services. Nazir provides consulting services to local agencies ranging from the complete responsibilities of traffic engineering functions to specialized operations such as synchronized signal systems as well as studies designed to improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities. He is currently the contract City Traffic Engineer for the Cities of La Quinta and Indian Wells in Southern California.
In June 2009, Nazir completed ten years service with the County of Ventura, California where he was the Deputy Director of the Transportation Department in charge of the Traffic and Transportation Division in the Transportation Department of the Ventura County Public Works Agency. Nazir has also held local government positions with the City of Ventura, California, Santa Barbara County, California, the City of Lakewood, Colorado, the City of Phoenix, Arizona and the Greater London Council in England.
Nazir obtained his Bachelors Degree from the University of Exeter in Devon, England and Masters Degree from Arizona State University. He is currently a licensed Engineer in Colorado and California. Nazir served as chair of various ITE committees and is a course instructor for UC Berkeley. He also served as an elected officer of ITE on the International Board of Direction and as ITE’s 1999 International President. Nazir has received numerous awards from ITE and other organizations including Burton W. Marsh Award and Coordinating Council Special Recognition Award.
