Donald G. Archer, P.E., has more than 30 years of experience in professional service organizations. He founded PQM, Inc. in 2006. His company focuses on reducing construction cost over-runs and accomplishes this through improved quality management performance . With all of the demands on the engineering industry, he recognized that if designers could improve their production performance and efficiency by just one percent it would save the nation billions of dollars every year in construction. His design and construction experience on highway, rail transit, airports, ports and harbors, water, wastewater, site development projects and quality management provides him with the understanding of what it takes for a technical professional service organization to produce quality documents.
PQM provides professional quality management services for public agencies, design engineers and contractors. They are currently providing Independent Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control Management for nearly $10B of construction value. This year PQM launched “PQM Solutions” which is an online project Design Quality Management Program with a complete training series for the quality management system, quality control and quality assurance procedures. In 2009, his ASCE peers honored him with the “Engineer of Merit Award” for his contribution to quality performance in the engineering community.
