Meet Your Instructors

Nageshwar Bhaskar has taught and prepared engineers to pass the P.E. exam over 15 years. His professional expertise includes: Storm water management; hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of dams; reservoir operation modeling water quality in surface water systems; and modeling of water resources systems using simulation methods. Dr. Bhasker is a Professor at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Louisville. He is a PE and has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University and an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
  
 Mark McGinley is a structural engineer who has taught and prepared engineers pass the P.E. exam over 5 years. He has taught structural wood design for a number of years. He is an expert in masonry building systems, specializing in masonry building envelopes. Mark is actively involved in the Masonry Society as Past Chair of the Design Practices Committee, a member of the Research Committee, the Board of Directors and the Code and Standards Committee. Mark is author of all five editions of the Masonry Designers Guide. He is Professor and Endowed Chair of Infrastructure Research, Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Louisville. Mark is a PE and has over 20 years of research and forensic engineering practice in building systems.

J.P. Mohsen has prepared and helped engineers pass the P.E. exam for over 15 years. Dr. Mohsen has coordinated and taught the P.E. Review in Civil Engineering course every fall and spring since 1996. He is the Course Director for ASCE’s P.E. Civil, P.E. Structural and P.E. Environmental Exam Review courses. He has taught courses in civil engineering, including structural analysis and design, surveying, construction materials, and pavement design. In addition, Dr. Mohsen is the past President of the American Society for Engineering Education. He is Professor and Chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.

JoAnne Tingle has over 10 years of experience in preparing engineers for the P.E. exam. She has been involved in Traffic and Transportation Engineering for over 20 years, including managing a central safety program for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. She is a Professional Engineer and is currently an International Member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). JoAnne holds a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics, Minor in Physics, a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kentucky State University.
 
Jerry Vandevelde has over 15 years of experience in teaching and preparing engineers pass the P.E. exam. He has over 25 years of experience with both international consulting firms and smaller regional firms. He has extensive experience in soil and materials laboratory testing, slope stability analysis, dam design, landfill design, geophysical methods, field instrumentation, failure analysis, various forms of deep foundations, and other geotechnical or materials concerns. He is a professional engineer and is a member of ASCE. He has a Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville.

Andy Winfrey has been teaching and preparing engineers pass the P.E. exam for 15 years.  Andy has been involved in the planning, design, construction management, and monitoring of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary landfills, and hazardous waste management for cities, counties, states, and major industries. He is a member of ASCE, and a registered professional engineer. Andy has a BS and MS, in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from the University of Kentucky and completed a Post Graduate Course in Air and Environmental Management at the University of Southern California.
