Past Messages from Foundation President & Chair, Michael Goodkind
Dear Colleagues and Friends of the Foundation,
As the newly elected President/Chair of the ASCE Foundation, I would first like to sincerely thank my predecessor, Luther W. Graef, P.E., F.ASCE, for his service as ASCE Foundation President/Chair, for the past three years and for his lifelong commitment to the Foundation. We truly appreciate Lou’s leadership during a time of such economic uncertainty. As a leader and philanthropist, Lou’s support of the Foundation has been one of unwavering dedication to the Foundation’s goals and principles. Thank you, Lou!
I’m looking forward to my term as President of the ASCE Foundation and welcome your comments and suggestions. Each and every donor has contributed to the Foundation’s success in the past and will be an integral part of its future. During what may be a slow climb out of the current economic climate, as we continue to support ASCE and civil engineering, we will need your support more than ever. I hope that you will remember the ASCE Foundation during your year-end gifting, when you renew your ASCE membership and when you think about your estate plans. Your generosity will continue to make a difference for civil engineering.
Again, my personal thanks to Lou Graef for his service to the ASCE Foundation and the profession.
May you all have a wonderful holiday season and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Michael N. Goodkind, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., CVS, F.ASCE
