Work Experience

  • NTUA; Educator from lecturer to professor level in the field of maritime hydraulics and port engineering. Served in several administrative positions, including: Head of the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, head of the undergraduate studies Committee of the School, member of the Senate Committee on undergraduate studies, member of the Rector’s Council. I have undertaken basic and applied research in conventional and probabilistic water wave mechanics, port structures behavior under seismic action, shallow water wave propagation, submerged coastal structures. I have led an array of basic and applied research projects on these and related topics. I have published 135 articles on subjects of maritime hydraulics, coastal & port engineering and planning. I have conducted extensive physical and mathematical modeling in research centers such as HR Wallingford UK, CEDEX Spain, Imperial College UK, NTUA Greece, TUDelft Netherlands. I directed 25 funded research projects in topics as those mentioned, while in 3 more as member of the research team, 1979-present
