Lisa Podesto, P.E., CGBP, M.ASCE, is Technical Director for the Wood Products Council initiative, WoodWorks, which serves to provide a single source for wood building design information and resources for the non-residential and multi-residential building industry. In her current role, she educates Northern California architects, engineers and contractors on all aspects of wood design via presentations, technical assistance and one on one project assistance.
For six years prior to joining the WoodWorks initiative Lisa was a Project Manager and a Design Engineer specializing in wood design. She earned her BS in General Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and her MS in Civil Engineering from San Francisco State University. She is the current Chair of the SEAOCC Sustainable Design Committee and a Certified Green Building Professional through the Build it Green program. She co-authored a 2009 SEAOC conference paper on the sustainability of wood as a structural material. She is a member of the International Code Council (ICC) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
