2014 New Faces of Civil Engineering - Professionals Honoree
Shah, an Assistant Project Manager with HDR in Irvine, CA is responsible for leading complex projects from preliminary engineering through the final phases of construction.
The Immediate Past President of ASCE’s Orange County Younger Member Forum (OCYMF), during the Los Angeles Section Centennial and Orange County Branch 60th Anniversary, Shah led 22 volunteers to triple the number of events hosted with nearly a third focused on K-12 and Community Outreach. Currently the Younger Member Liaison for six Younger Member groups within the Los Angeles Section, Shah is regularly invited to speak about the civil engineering profession with K-12 and university audiences.
Recently, Shah led the development of a complex interchange improvement project for the Port of Los Angeles. The $28 million project provides improvements to the transportation infrastructure to increase efficiency and maintain a competitive advantage over other Western and Eastern ports. In the short span of five years -based upon the relationship he built with the client and responsiveness to the client’s needs- Shah was promoted from a Design Engineer on the project to Assistant Project Manager.
Shah earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
