J. G. (Greg) Soules, P.E., S.E, F.AS CE, is a Principal civil/structural engineer with CB&I located in The Woodlands, Texas. CB&I is a global engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company working in the energy market. CB&I is one of the largest designers of steel plate structures in the world. Mr. Soules holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University and a MBA from the University of Houston. He has worked for CB&I in various engineering roles for more than 30 years. He is a member and main committee secretary of the ASCE 7 Committee (Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures), a member of the ASCE 7 General Provisions Subcommittee, and the chair of the Nonbuilding Structures Task Committee of the ASCE 7 Seismic Subcommittee. Mr. Soules also chairs the Environmental Loads Subcommittee of ASCE 37 (Design loads on Structures during Construction) and the ASCE Task Committee on Seismic Evaluation and Design of Petrochemical Facilities.
