Reston, Va. ― Allen J. Staron, P.E., senior vice president Clark Dietz, Inc., was recently elected as a governor of Region 3 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Region 3, one of the Society’s ten regional governing boards, represents members from Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Staron began his term on Oct. 1, 2010.
As the senior vice president with Clark Dietz, Inc., Staron is the transportation group manager. Previously, Staron served as senior vice president of Earth Tech, Inc. and associate vice president with Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade and Douglas, Inc.
Within ASCE, Staron has served as president, director and secretary of the Illinois Section. He also chaired the Transportation Group and the Awards Committee within the section. He currently serves as a director of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association Board.
Staron received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his master’s of business administration from DePaul University. Staron is registered as a licensed professional engineer in Illinois. He is a resident of Glen Ellyn, Ill.
