Reston, Va. - Brent C. Siemer, P.E., F.ASCE, public works director for Lake County, Calif., was recently elected as a governor of Region 9 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Region 9, one of the Society’s ten regional governing boards, represents members from California. Siemer began his term on Oct. 1, 2010.
As the public works director for Lake County, Siemer is responsible for managing all maintenance and improvements of the roadways, bridges, airport and vehicle fleet within the county. Prior to his current position, Siemer was the city engineer for Eureka, Calif.
Within ASCE, Siemer is a member of the Formation Committee of Region 9. He has also served as president of the California Society of Civil Engineers as well as the San Francisco Section and its North Coast Branch. He received the Engineer of the Year Award from the North Coast Branch in 2008.
Siemer received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University Sacramento and his master’s degree in business management from Colorado Technical University. Siemer is a licensed professional engineer in California. He is a resident of Lakeport, Calif.
