Reston, Va. ― Jason L. Haeseler, E.I., a project engineer with Jones Edmunds & Associates, was recently elected as a governor of Region 5 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Region 5, one of the Society’s 10 regional governing boards, represents members from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Haeseler began his term on Oct. 1, 2010.
As a project engineer with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Haeseler provides construction administration for public works projects such as the partial closer, stormwater retrofit and expansion of the landfill gas collection system at the Brevard County Central Disposal Facility in Cocoa, Florida. The Bervard Energy, LLC can now generate up to nine megawatts of power from gas collected from the landfill. Prior to his position with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Haeseler was a project administrator with JEA Construction Engineering Services Inc.
An active member of ASCE, Haeseler is the past president of the Florida section. He has also served as the vice president and president of the Gainesville Branch and participated in a campaign workshop at Georgetown University with SEA and ASCE.
Haeseler received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He is a resident of Gainesville, Fla.
