National Civil Engineering Society Elects New Officers

Reston, Va. — The American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) newly elected officers will be installed to its Board of Direction on Oct. 21, 2011, during the business meeting at ASCE’s Annual Conference in Memphis, Tenn. The new board members include:

President-elect—Gregory E. DiLoreto, P.E., P.L.S., F.ASCE, chief executive officer of Tualatin Valley Water District Oregon (Portland, Ore.), will assume the role of Society president in the fall of 2012. Responsible for the overall management of the second largest water utility in Oregon, DiLoreto has also served as the director of public works for the cities of Gresham, Newberg and Sandy, Oregon.

At-Large Director—Stephen A. Curtis, P.E., D.P.E., M.ASCE, is program lead of waterfront services at Collins Engineers, Inc. (Newport News, Va.).

Region 1 Director—Mark P. Rusnica, E.I., M.ASCE, a project manager with the Dormitory Authority, State of New York, will represent members from Sections and Branches in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Region 5 Director—William P. Grogran, Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, a deputy director for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will represent members from Sections and Branches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Region 9 Director—Jennifer B. Epp, P.E., M.ASCE, a water resources control engineer with the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (Sacramento, Calif.), will represent members from Sections and Branches in California.

Technical Region Director—Billy L. Edge, Ph.D., P.E.,D.CE, Dist.M.ASCE, a professor at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC) and the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC), will represent members from all Institutes.

ASCE has also elected new Region Governors, who will serve three-year terms, providing leadership for their geographic region.

Region 1—Anatoly M. Darov, P.E., Esq., M.ASCE, a partner at Burns & Levinson LLP (Boston, Mass.), will represent members from Sections and Branches in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Region 2—Christopher J. Menna, P.E., F.ASCE, a senior project engineer with the city of Philadelphia Bridge Section, will represent members from Sections and Branches in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.

Region 3— John A. Frauenhoffer, P.E., S.E., M.ASCE, a senior structural engineer at Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (Champaign, Ill.), and Rhett A. Gronevelt, P.E., M.ASCE, a group manager at Orchard, Hiltz & McCliment, Inc. (Livonia, Mich.), will represent members from Sections and Branches in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota.

Region 4— Grant K. Autry, P.E., P.L.S., LEED AP, M.ASCE, director of business development at Southside Constructors, Inc. (Charlotte, N.C.), and Lamont W. Curtis, P.E., DEE, F.ASCE, a senior engineering manager at Parsons Brinkerhoff (Norfolk, Va.), will represent members from Sections and Branches in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Region 5—E. Raymond DesOrmeaux, P.E., F.ASCE, owner and operator of E.R. DesOrmeaux (Lafayette, La.) and adjunct professor at the University of Louisiana, and Chad A. Gartrell, P.E., M.ASCE, a program manager and research civil engineer at USACE Engineer and Research Development Center (Vicksburg, Miss.), will represent members from Sections and Branches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Region 6—Nancy S. Cline, P.E., M.ASCE, director of public works in Addison, Texas, and Kenneth B. Morris, P.E., PTOE, M.ASCE, a civil engineering group manager with the Benham Companies, LLC, will represent members from Sections and Branches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Region 7—Gene L. Rovak, P.E., CFM, M.ASCE, a senior project manager at Horner & Shifrin, Inc. (St. Louis, Mo.), and Edward W. Stafford, P.E., PTOE, M.ASCE, a city engineer for the city of Centennial, Colo., will represent members from Sections and Branches in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.

Region 8—Heidi A. Dexheimer, P.E., M.ASCE, a water resources manager at Slater Hanifan Group (Las Vegas, Nev.), and Thomas G. Krzewinski, P.E., D.GE, F.ASCE, a senior geotechnical engineering consultant at Golder Associations, Inc. (Anchorage, Alaska), will represent members from Sections and Branches in Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Region 9—Jay H. Higgins, P.E., M.ASCE, a senior project manager at URS Corporation (Los Angeles, Calif.) and licensed professional engineer in California and Illinois with 35 years of experience, will represent members from Sections and Branches in California.

Region 10—Emmanuel A. Adeyemo, Ph.D., FNSE, CEng, F.ASCE, a managing principal at Pheman Peniel Consultants (Lagos, Nigeria), and Constantine D. Memos, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, a consultant in Port Engineering and professor at the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) will represent ASCE’s International Sections and Groups.
