Proceedings of the Second Conference on Robotics for Challenging Environments, held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, June 1-6, 1996.

This collection contains 45 papers reporting on the development of technologies for robotic and teleoperated systems and the application of such systems in a variety of challenging environments. Papers on supporting technologies describe path planning, operator interfaces and supervisory control, and control of robots and manipulators. Papers on applications describe space applications, standards for space robots, infrastructure applications, robotic excavation, and safety in nuclear facilities.
