Proceedings of the Third Congress on Computing in Civil Engineering, held in Anaheim, California, June 17-19, 1996. Sponsored by the Committee on Coordination Outside ASCE of the Technical Council on Computer Practices of ASCE.

This collection of more than 150 state-of-the-art, peer-reviewed papers examines a broad array of topics concerning computing applications in civil engineering practice and education, as well as advanced computing theory and technologies. This book features experiences and lessons learned from applications in construction, structures, geotechnical engineering, and transportation. Topics range from applications of the Internet, World Wide Web, and multimedia in civil engineering to geographic information systems. Additional topics include risk and reliability assessment and management; visualization, modeling, and simulation; artificial intelligence and advanced computing; and interoperability.
