Proceedings of ASCE Pipelines Division Technical Sessions at the 1999 American Public Works Association International Public Works Congress and Exposition, held in Denver, Colorado, September 19-22, 1999. Sponsored by the Pipeline Division of ASCE.

This collection contains 28 papers discussing state-of-the art approaches to pipeline design and construction that result in high quality, reliable, safe, and durable pipelines. Topics include:

• evaluation and rehabilitation of old pipeline systems using new engineering design procedures and new construction technologies;
• safety of the public and workers who are involved in the construction of pipelines;
• use of new and existing technologies to construct new facilities with minimal disruption to existing infrastructure and societal activities; and
• increased dependability and longer service lives.
