Proceedings of a session of the ASCE National Convention, held in San Francisco, California, October 5, 1984. Sponsored by the Pipeline Division of ASCE.

This collection contains six papers covering practical aspects of the control systems in pipeline projects. More and more time is being devoted by the engineer involved in the design and construction of a pipeline project to problems relating to the control systems that operate and monitor the pipeline project. These papers examine pipeline pressure surges, pipeline leak detection, automatic controls for pipelines, pipeline security systems, computer-based control systems for pipelines, and slurry pipeline control systems.
