The National Student Steel Bridge Competition (NSSBC) challenges student teams to design and fabricate a one-tenth scale steel bridge. Contest rules reflect structural specifications and construction regulations. Students practice structural design/analysis and project management, as well as learning fabrication techniques and gaining appreciation for the strength and constructability of steel. NSSBC is co-sponsored by ASCE and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
