A new system to formally evaluate sustainable infrastructure projects needs your civil engineering expertise to increase its reliability and value. The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure requests your feedback on the version 1.0 draft of its Envision™ rating system. Envision evaluates the sustainability of a wide range of civil infrastructure projects vital to our communities, to economic competitiveness and to protecting the environment, and will award and recognize projects that meet that goal. The system will evaluate and score existing infrastructure and serve as a goal for new and renovating projects to achieve.
Your critical review will help ISI improve Envision’s methodology and utility. To read the draft and comment, visit ISI’s Web site, sustainableinfrastructure.org. All comments and suggestions are confidential and will be considered. Comments will be accepted over the next six months. Envision is slated for an official rollout in early 2012.
Formed in part for the creation and administering of the Envision system, ISI is an independent non-profit created by ASCE, the American Public Works Association, and the American Council of Engineering Companies.
