Winners of the 2015 AEI Professional Project Awards Announced!

The Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) recently honored 13 organizations that work within the architectural engineering industry at the Professional Project Awards (PPA) held at the AEI Conference 2015, March 27 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, WI. 

The competition focuses on the design and construction of high performance buildings including structural, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as construction management and architectural engineering integration. 

The 2015 projects and award recipients were as follows:

Best Overall Projects - Museum of Wisconsin Art, HGA Architects & Engineers (HGA) (Less than $100 million); Weill Cornell Medical College
      Belfer Research Building, Jaros, Baum & Bolles  (greater than $100 million)
The Most Innovative Projects - Baha'i Temple of South America, Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) (less than $100 million); China Merchants
      Tower & Woods Park, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) Chicago (greater than $100 million)

Submissions were evaluated and judged based on the following criteria: originality and innovative character; integration and collaboration; sustainability; energy efficiency and economics; effective use of technology; and constructability and site logistics.  

The projects were reviewed by a committee of 14 jurors including distinguished members of the design and construction industry and representatives from the AEI Board of Governors and the Academic Council.
