is a registered Civil Engineer with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Transportation. She has been working with the City of Sunnyvale for 12 years overseeing traffic years, signal maintenance and operations, traffic signal design, signing and striping design, and street lighting design. More recently, Carmen was involved with a city-wide LED Street Lighting demonstration project, where existing duplex high pressure sodium street lights were replaced with LED lights. The study focused on evaluating light performance from three LED light manufacturers, including their RP8 conformance, and the annual energy savings associated with each vendor.
