ASCE Standards provide technical guidelines or mandatory provisions for promoting safety, reliability, productivity and efficiency across all areas of civil engineering. Standards are developed by a consensus process managed by the Codes and Standards Committee (CSC). The consensus process includes balloting by the balanced standards committee, made up of Society members and nonmembers, and a public review period.
