Conference Goals:

The conference is designed to provide the opportunity:

  • To bring together engineers, seismologists, geologists, social scientists, and managers to exchange information about earthquakes and lifeline performance.
  • To discuss state-of-the-art lifeline earthquake engineering by individuals in their respective areas of expertise.
  • To explore similarities between response and vulnerability of lifelines to earthquakes and other types of catastrophic external loading events.
  • For ASCE members and nonmembers to participate in workshops in various specialty areas.
  • To introduce industry-standard systems and renowned market applications and products through vendor and organization exhibits.
  • For attendees to interface with each other and exchange information for improving seismic performance of lifelines, especially one-on-one discussions through poster sessions.
