All your grilled favorites will be available along with others sure to become new ones. One ticket is included with each Full Conference Registration. Additional tickets may be purchased in advance or on site for $50 each.

Workshop #1: Continuous Commissioning: Maximizing Building Energy Efficiency and Comfort   » This workshop has been cancelled.
Wednesday, September 17, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Learn how to optimize your existing system with continuous commissioning (CC) to enhance building comfort while reducing your energy bill by 20 percent. This workshop will present everything you need to know from technical tools (including field measurement and fault detection) to managing the CC project and selecting providers. You'll also learn how to meter and document your energy savings and comfort level achieved. The workshop will also include several detailed case studies to round out the learning experience. Cost: $250.

Workshop #2: Curtainwall Round Table
Thursday, September 18, 8:00 am - 12:00 Noon
Join the Curtainwall seminar steering committee for an overview of different aspects of curtainwalls. The presentation will include the history and anatomy of curtainwalls, multi-hazard considerations, and some forensic case studies. In addition, the contents of the anticipated curtainwall seminar will be presented. After the presentation, an open meeting of the steering committee will be held to discuss the upcoming seminar. Cost: No charge.

Technical Tours

Austin Resource Center for the Homeless
Saturday, September 20, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
This facility was designed to achieve the maximum use of natural light, ventilation, and views through openings in the building, courtyards, and terraces. The building design also incorporates many of the city's new downtown design guidelines as well as components of the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDTM) rating system - including rainwater harvesting, a chlorine-free HVAC cooling system, the elimination of polyvinyl chloride, a solar water heating system, and creative use of a concrete structural frame system. Four to six tours will be offered for groups of 12. The facility is a four-block walk from the hotel. The registration fee is a $10 donation to the facility.

UT Laboratories Tour
Saturday, September 20, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Visit four academic research laboratories at The University of Texas' J.J. Pickle Research Campus (PRC): The Phil M. Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory is one of the largest structural research facilities in the world. Multi-story structures and full-size multi-girder bridge structures have been tested here. The Construction Materials Research Laboratory (CMRL) contains facilities for testing a variety of building materials under different conditions, including fatigue, creep, and controlled temperature. The Construction Automation Laboratory (CAL) contains test platforms for automated road maintenance systems development, a large scale manipulator for surface finishing and materials handling, sensing systems, and an aggregate characterization test bed. The Indoor Air Quality and Energy Conservation Laboratory (IAQECL) houses key analytical instrumentation for indoor air quality and energy conservation research. Cost: $20.
