This year's Mead topic invites Students and Younger Members to discuss whether it is ethical to profit from engineering work arising from natural or manmade disasters. Winners of both the Student and Younger Member Mead Paper contests will present their papers at this session, which will include further perspectives on ethics and professionalism in civil engineering from a professional speaker. Door prizes will be awarded!

Sink-or-Swim: The ASCE Student Chapter's Choice

The Committee on Student Activities (CSA) annually recognizes the top ASCE student chapters/clubs in several categories. In Nashville, award-winning ASCE chapters and clubs will present success stories and lessons learned to encourage student chapter leaders to strive toward excellence on their campus. CSA representatives as well as representatives from the Robert Ridgeway award-winning student chapter, outstanding student club, and one outstanding community service project winner will present timely information on how they were able to swim their way to success!

Younger Member Leadership Symposium I

This session will include an insightful presentation on Project Management and Risk Management. Younger Members will also have an opportunity to interact with ASCE National Officers, including the 2004 ASCE President-elect and ASCE Executive Director Pat Natale, P.E., M.ASCE. We will break for refreshments at 3:30 PM.
