TECHNICAL TOUR:

Orlando Airport Tour

Explore the APMs at Orlando International Airport. The tour starts with a ride on the Airside 2 APM, then proceeds to the East Maintenance Facility for a look at the shop and equipment rooms. The tour continues to the west side of the airport to visit the main maintenance facility, which serves the Airside 1 and Airside 3 APM systems. Airport officials will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Included for All Registrants. Pre-Registration Required. Sponsored by Bombardier

TECHNICAL TOUR:

I-Drive Tour

The tour of International Drive (I-Drive) will include a presentation outlining the need for transportation improvements in this busy corridor, which is located between the Universal/Orlando Studios and Belz Factory Outlet on the north, through Universal/Major Boulevard and Canadian Court Intermodal Center areas, and Sea World on the south. The Florida Department of Transportation is evaluating various transit improvement alternatives to meet future growth for the many attractions and activity centers in the I-Drive Corridor. APM is among the technologies being considered. The tour will follow the recommended alignment and stop at many of the proposed transit station locations.

TECHNICAL TOUR:

Take a backstage tour of the Walt Disney World® Resort monorail maintenance facility and inspect a train, vehicle operating cab, vehicle subsystems, power distribution system monitoring and controls, and track switch monitoring and controls. Each tour will last approximately two hours, including travel time.

Participants limited to the first 60 who sign up.Must be age 16 or older. Pre-Registration Required.

Please note that the maintenance facility is located on a second floor with stairway access only.
