EWRI Leadership Workshop    11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

With pride in the strong leadership that makes it a success, EWRI invites all current and incoming Council and Committee Chairs from Technical Activities, Products & development, and Member Services to attend this workshop as a transitional tool to enable current Chairs to share their experience with newly-elected Chairs. Through its leadership, EWRI has the capability to provide workshops, conferences, publications, and other services to benefit our members, other professionals, and the environmental and water resources fields.

Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony    4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession,bridge the gap between training and experience, and present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Participants take the Obligation of the Engineer and wear a steel ring as a reminder of their commitment to high ethics and professionalism.

ASCE will conduct an Engineer's Ring Ceremony at the 2004 World Water & Environmental Resources Congress. You are encouraged to become an Order of the Engineer member if you:
    1. have graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program,
    or
    2. hold a license as a Professional Engineer,
    or
    3. are enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program and within two academic terms of graduation.

AWARD LECTURES: Freese and Rouse   6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Two lectures of industry-wide importance will be presented at this time.

2004 SIMON W. FREESE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AWARD LECTURE
The 2004 Simon W. Freese Lecture will be offered by an eminent environmental engineer, selected to receive the recognition along with a certificate and cash prize.

2004 HUNTER ROUSE HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING AWARD LECTURE
Hydraulic engineering's premier lectureship, endowed through personal contributions by engineers and engineering firms throughout the world, will be presented in this time period. The prize consists of a certificate and cash.
