The three-day conference will open with a Welcome Social in the Exhibit area on Sunday evening, September 7. To foster communication among the many disciplines attending, all technical papers will be presented in plenary sessions Monday, September 8, through Wednesday, September 10. Poster presentations will be displayed during the entire conference, and the authors will be introduced daily. A printed proceedings volume will be distributed to participants at the conference.
The exhibit hall will be integrated into the conference venue and will be open from Sunday evening until the conference adjourns. The Welcome Social and all breaks will be held in the Exhibit area.
An optional field trip will precede the technical sessions on Sunday, September 7.
For those new to the subject matter, a technical short course will be presented on Saturday, September 6: An Introduction to the Engineering & Environmental Impacts of Karst Geology and Hydrology, presented by Drs. Barry F. Beck and Wanfang Zhou of P.E. LaMoreaux & Associates, Inc.
A second technical short course will also be presented on Saturday, September 6 for those already familiar with the technical aspects of karst: Introduction to Grouting in Karst, presented by Michael J. Byle, P.E., F.ASCE, of Gannett Fleming, Inc.
