If
you’re expecting a staid Midwestern town…that’s not Cleveland. This
hopping metropolis was ranked the nation’s second best spot for
recreation among more than 350 cities rated by Places Rated Almanac.
The city’s three professional sports teams — the Cleveland Indians,
Browns and Cavaliers — a plethora of Lake Erie water sports, the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an abundance of amusement parks, arts
and culture, and great restaurants make it one of the best kept
secrets in the country.
Cleveland
has it all, and August is the perfect time of year to visit! From
world–class amusement parks and museums to great restaurants, shopping,
professional sports, and golf, there’s something for everyone. The
Flats — a historic warehouse district on the banks of the Cuyahoga
River — is the hot spot for entertainment, with nightclubs, restaurants,
live jazz, and blues. Cleveland also features Jacobs Field, home
to the Indians, and just north of downtown is the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame, The House That Rock Built®.
Take
advantage of the excellent August weather and sunny skies with an
early weekend at Cedar Point Amusement Park, the Cleveland Metroparks
Zoo and Rain Forest, Six Flags, or recreational and leisure activities
along Lake Erie’s south shore. Bring the whole family for a wonderful
getaway.
The Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority (RTA) has a rapid transit line (the Red Line) that runs from Hopkins Airport to downtown Cleveland. It is accessible from inside the Airport terminal and delivers it's riders directly to the Renaissance Hotel / Tower City complex. Please view the RTA website for further information.
