Houston, Texas, known as
"Space City, USA," has a
cosmopolitan look, with the
feel of the "Old West" hospitality. It
is the fourth largest city in the United
States - encompassing more than
600 square miles. Despite its size,
Houston is accommodating and
friendly - due in large part to
the diversity of its residents,
who speak more than 90
different languages.
Houston is big and
bold, just as you'd
expect from a city in
the "Lone Star State."
It's the center for U.S.
petroleum and space
industries, as well as a
leader in medical research
and healthcare. Education is
very important to Houstonians; there
are more than 40 post-secondary
educational institutions within the city
and surrounding area. Houston's mild
climate and more than 400 parks
foster year-round outdoor recreation.
During May and June, low
temperatures are in the high 60's,
and high temperatures are in the high
80's, with humidity often making the
air temperature feel much warmer.
Houston is a beautiful city, with much
to see and a host of exciting activities
to partake of. The list includes a
fascinating Museum District with 26
museums to choose from, the
world-renowned Texas
Medical Center, the

District, many
historical destinations, state-of-the-art sports
venues, the NASA Space Center,

experiences, more than 4,200
restaurants featuring all varieties of
regional and international cuisine,
exciting nightlife, nearby beaches,
and of course, a distinguished
