Travel Documents Needed
A valid passport and visa are required of most visitors to the United States. Attendees should check with their local consulates or embassies. If a letter of invitation is required to secure a visa, please send us your request at least six weeks prior to your planned travel by CLICKING HERE and submitting the required information.

Airport-to-Hotel Ground Transportation
Clearlake Shuttle runs regularly from Hobby Airport (the closest airport to the Conference venue); however, advance reservations are still needed. Arrangements can also be made from Bush Intercontinental Airport at the special negotiated rate and based on availability. Please contact Clearlake Shuttle directly to make your arrangements at 281-334-3873.

From Hobby Airport: $15 each way for individual transfers on schedule; $25 off schedule from 6:45 AM - 8:00 PM; $45 for the Red Eye from 8:00 PM to 6:45 AM.

Taxis are available from both airports with no advance arrangements, but are generally much higher cost.

Driving Directions

From Downtown Houston
Take I-45 south to League City (exit 23). Make a left going under I-45 onto FM 518, also known as Main Street. In approximately 4 miles, you will find the turn into the hotel on your left.

From the North Side of Houston and Bush Intercontinental Airport

Take Beltway 8 south to I-45 south to League City (exit 23). Make a left going under I-45 onto FM 518, and find the turn into the hotel on your left in approximately 4 miles.

Travel Tips
Service charges or tips are generally not included in published prices in the United States. Restaurant servers, taxi drivers, etc., generally expect a tip of at least 15%.

Smoking in public areas is usually prohibited in the United States. Smokers should seek out designated smoking areas in hotels, restaurants, and other businesses.

Congress Dress
Business casual attire is appropriate for most Earth & Space 2004 events. Although jackets are not required for the sessions, jackets or sweaters that can be removed are advisable because conference rooms may be cool. You may choose to wear business attire for the banquet.

The best plan is to dress in layers, so that as you move from one place to another you can adjust your clothing.

Electricity


The electricity used in the United States is standard electricity, which is 110 volts. Please bring the appropriate adapters and transformers for any appliances or computers that you bring to the Conference, as these are not readily available in the United States for adaptation FROM overseas appliances.
