The theme "Engineering Smarter" sets the tone for the 2003 Structures Congress & Exposition. The meeting has been designed to greatly increase participation of practicing engineers while retaining strong interest among academics and researchers. The program will engage practicing engineers and researchers in discussions on how to make better use of existing materials and structural concepts as well as developing new methods and materials.

The 2003 Congress & Exposition will build on the success of previous conferences, adding innovative new features. Highlights include:

  • Study, then tour — exciting structural engineering achievements in Seattle
  • Attend the Steel Bridge Forum — integrated in the program for 2003
  • Learn the latest — in earthquake design, performance monitoring of structures, and SEAW commentary on wind load design
  • Enhance your professionalism — with 11 sessions in a special track dedicated to professional and practice issues
  • Explore the more than 50 sessions — on cutting-edge topics in structural design
  • Learn about new products and services — with exhibits integrated throughout the conference
