THE
TECHNICAL COUNCIL on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering
(TCLEE) is pleased to announce TCLEE 2003, the Sixth U.S. Conference
and Workshop on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering. Since the fifth
conference held in Seattle, Washington, in 1999, TCLEE has sent
post-earthquake investigation teams to El Salvador; India; Peru;
Taiwan; Turkey (Izmit/Kocalei and Duzce); and within the U.S. (Napa
Valley, Nisqually, and Hector Mine). In addition, new research has
been conducted on the seismic performance of lifelines, new standards
and codes have been developed, and major lifeline systems have been
rehabilitated, designed, and constructed.
The
theme for TCLEE 2003 is Advancing Mitigation Technologies and Disaster
Response. Don’t miss this opportunity to join specialists from all
disciplines in the field and around the world to discuss what has
been learned, to see the latest trends and developments, and to
understand how developments in lifeline earthquake engineering can
reduce losses from other technological hazards.
