Position: Manager, Media Relations

Requirements: Searching
for a PR professional with outstanding writing, editing and verbal
communication skills to manage and implement media relations activities. Ideal candidates will have: a BA in communications, public relations,
journalism or related field; 2-4 years of experience with demonstrated success
in media relations; and strong organizational skills. Primary responsibilities include increasing
awareness of the profession and the association’s programs through: managing
media outreach projects; developing media outreach materials, including
advisories, news releases and letters to the editor; working with social media;
maintaining media contacts database and developing distribution lists; fielding
media inquiries and managing special projects as needed. Knowledge of media relations software a plus.

Position: Market Research Analyst

Requirements: Responsibilities include:
providing dashboards, analysis, reporting tools, and marketing and sales
recommendations to staff and volunteers from analysis of web and broadcast
e-mails, customer purchase data, customer segments, competition in the market,
and environmental scans; leading our Data Standards Team charged with
validating counts and cash, and ensuring integrity on existing and future data
acquisition; leading our Salary Survey to include vendor management and liaison
with partner associations; and building and maintaining a central repository of
industry statistics, trends, and business conditions from internal and external
sources. Ideal candidates will have: a Master’s degree in statistics;
5-8 years’ experience providing statistical market analysis, sampling, and research
design; and demonstrated success translating raw data into meaningful and
actionable findings and recommendations.
Experience with business intelligence software is required, and specific
experience with Business Objects and Xcelsius is a big plus.

Position: Production Editor
Open Date: May1, 2013
Requirements: Seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Production Editor to assist with production of the Society's 33 scholarly journals. Computer literacy and ability to communicate effectively with authors,
editors, and staff essential. Technical editing and some graphics
experience a plus. Math into Type and journals production experience helpful. Responsibilities include electronic and paper-based editing and proofing, performing quality-control checks of manuscripts, and enforcing standards of quality control in all phases of production. We will provide training in power editing tools and online manuscript tracking system. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment required. Candidates must have a BA, at least two years of relevant editorial experience, and knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style.
