2nd Annual West Point Critical Infrastructure Symposium

Start Date
April 29, 2011
End Date
April 30, 2011
Newark, NJ

The Second Annual West Point Critical Infrastructure Symposium will be held on April 29 & 30, 2011 at The United States Military Academy, West Point, New York and is co-sponsored by The Infrastructure Security Partnership. The Symposium will foster the integration of resilient infrastructure policy, practice, and education through key note speakers, technical presentations, and roundtable discussions.

The inaugural West Point Critical Infrastructure Symposium was held on April 30, 2010. Cadets from the United States Military Academy joined by students from other universities presented papers and engaged in in-depth discussions with invited infrastructure professionals and government officials. This year we are building on this foundation and expanding the scope of the symposium.

College students (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.) and faculty conducting research in critical infrastructure protection and resilience are invited to submit and present papers. Industry professionals and government officials are invited to give presentations or simply attend the symposium to participate in the discussions. Undergraduate papers are important to this event and are strongly solicited.

An infrastructure course development workshop will be offered for faculty before the opening session on Friday April 29th. This workshop will present the objectives, course structure, references, and lesson notes for two courses: "Infrastructure Engineering" and "Introduction to Critical Infrastructure Protection." These courses are structured to appeal to students in engineering, policy, emergency management, and homeland security programs. This workshop is ideal for faculty who are developing or improving courses in infrastructure policy, resilience, and protection.
