Prof. Jimmy (C.M.) Kao is a distinguished professor at the Institute of Environmental Engineering of National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan. Prof. Kao is also the President of Taiwan Association of Soil and Groundwater Environmental Protection. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University. Prof. Kao is a fellow member of American Society of Civil Engineers, a fellow member of American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a fellow member of Environment and Water Resource Institute. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the branch of Civil Engineering, a Certified Ground Water Professional, and a Professional Hydrologist in the United States.
Professor Kao has served as the associate editors of several international journals including Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste, Water Environment Research, and British Journal of Environment and Climate Change. Prof. Jimmy Kao has an outstanding record in both academic and practical areas. He received the “Distinguished Researcher Award” from Taiwan National Science Council in 2012, which is the most important research award in Taiwan. He is also the receiver of the “Distinguished Engineer Professor Award” from Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2012, and the receiver of the “Samuel Arnold Greely Award” from ASCE in 2012.
