Yee Cho, PE, LSP, F.EWRI is founding President of CDW Consultants, Inc. (CDW), an environmental and civil engineering firm in Framingham, MA. Also, she is founding member of ASCE EWRI, and founding Editor and past Editor-in-Chief of "ASCE Hazardous Toxic and Radiologic Waste Management Practice Periodical." In addition, she chaired and conducted peer reviews for ASCE committees which published guidance manuals for contaminated sites investigation and remediation disciplines.
Ms. Cho has been a pioneer and leader in environmental engineering since the inception of the Superfund program. As staff of MA DEP, she worked together with USEPA in pioneering the development of programs for contaminated sites. Further, she spearheaded the mission to develop the program for PE registration by examination for professionals experienced in contaminated sites investigation and remedial designs.
Yee has mentored professionals to advance through the ranks of engineering firms to ultimate leadership in their field as state licensing board members, and principals of engineering firms. Beyond the local community, Yee is profiled as an extraordinary women engineer, living and past, in ASCE’s 2006 publication, "Changing Our World - True Stories of Women Engineers"; which targets middle and high school students nationwide, and has been found as "recommended read" in libraries.
Ms. Cho is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and MA Licensed Site Professional (LSP), has over 28 years experience in public sectors and private consulting, and in the nation’s highest priority projects. Prior to founding CDW in 1990, she was employed at leading engineering firms, the MA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and the Boston City Office of Environmental Affairs. She authored over 18 articles presented at national and international conventions, including award winning articles noted for their excellence and timeliness. She received her M.S. in Civil Engineering, and B.S. in Chemistry and Philosophy degrees from Tufts University.
