Coalitions Membership in coalitions with other like-minded organizations helps ASCE maximize its exposure in Washington. ASCE is a member of the following Legislative Coalitions. Americans for Transportation Mobility - A coalition of professional and industry groups that is working to ensure that our nation's transportation infrastructure is improved and transportation is made more safe and efficient. www.a-t-m.org/portal/atm/default Aviation R&T Coalition - A coalition of professional and industry groups supporting federal research and technology support for aviation - including airport infrastructure. Clean Water Council - A coalition of underground construction contractors, design professionals, manufacturers and suppliers, and other professionals committed to ensuring a high quality of life through sound environmental infrastructure. Council on Federal Procurement of Architectural/Engineering Services - A coalition comprised of ACSM, AIA, ASCE, MAPPS, and NSPE that deals with all issues involving federal A/E procurement, including the Brooks Architect-Engineers Act, size standards and set-asides. www.cofpaes.org Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF) - A very large coalition of academic, industry and professional groups supporting the programs and funding for the National Science Foundation. www.cur.org/cnsfltrfornsf.htm Dam Safety Coalition - ASCE led coalition of professional and industry groups supporting the creation of a Da m Rehabilitation and Repair Program. www.damsafetycoalition.org National Flood Map Modernization Coalition - The National Flood Map Modernization Coalition represents a variety of stakeholders in the surveying and mapping community, development, insurance and real estate industries, state, county and municipal government officials, floodplain and emergency management officials, and environmental organizations who regularly rely on and use floodplain maps in their planning, management and advocacy initiatives. National Waterways Alliance - a coalition of trade and regional associations, cooperatives, businesses and industries, ports, waterways services, and labor organizations that have an interest in national waterways policy issues. www.waterways.org/ Natural Hazards Alliance - A group of associations and other organizations supporting the Congressional Natural Hazards Caucus. This group supports Federal hazards mitigation research and improved emergency response to natural hazards. www.agiweb.org/workgroup/ NEHRP Coalition - Jointly led by ASCE and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) supports funding for the National Earthquake Hazards Research Program. www.nehrp.org Rebuild America's Schools - A coalition which includes professional and education associations support Federal support of school construction. www.modernschools.org/ras/ Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Coalition - A coalition of professional, education, engineering, industry and scientific associations supporting improved math and science education at the K-12 levels.
