D. Reza Darvishian, P.E., F.ASCE, received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his master's degree in engineering management from George Washington University. As civil engineering group leader for the U.S. Department of State's Overseas Building Operation Bureau, Darvishian is involved in designing, planning, constructing and maintaining U.S. diplomatic facilities worldwide. Previously, he was vice president at CH2M Hill and Delon Hampton and Associates where he was responsible for delivering various major capital improvement projects. An active ASCE member, Darvishian has served as District 5 Director and president, vice president, treasurer and secretary of the National Capital Section. In addition, he has served on the Society's Policy Review Committee, Committee on Diversity and Women in Civil Engineering, National Transportation Policy Committee and Continuing Education Committee, among many others.
