R.I. (Bob) Smith, M.ASCE is the deputy director of Logistics and Engineering at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Bob has been recognized by NSPE as one of the top 10 engineers in the federal government. The Governor of South Carolina presented him with the Order of the Palmetto for professional achievement. Educated at the University of South Carolina, he was a member of Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi. In ASCE, he has served as the District 6 chair and held all section offices. He has been named South Carolina Engineer of the Year and is the recipient of Lifetime Professional Achievement, Leadership and Service awards.
