International Agreements of Cooperation
What is an Agreement of Cooperation? In 1985, the Agreement of Cooperation was established to facilitate communication and joint activities among engineering organizations around the world. The Agreement is a contract between ASCE and a counterpart society in another country whose purpose is to exchange technical, scientific, and professional information to better serve their membership and the engineering profession. The Agreement encourages joint membership in both organizations and a complimentary membership is offered by ASCE to the chief staff officer of the other society. To date, ASCE has 65 Agreements of Cooperation. It is the intent of the International Activities Committee that these contracts result in active communication and cooperation in joint projects.
