Shipping Information
All canoes that will be shipped to the 2004 ASCE/MBT National Concrete Canoe Competition must be sent to Catholic University as outlined below. Failure to adhere to the instructions and target dates listed may result in your canoe being unavailable for competition. Teams must make arrangements with Catholic University in advance of shipping by contacting Dr. Panos Tsopelas at tsopelas@cua.edu or (202) 319-5165 for coordination (shipping, address, etc.).
Inbound Shipping
Teams that will be shipping canoes via common carrier must ensure that round-trip freight is pre-paid. You must ensure the shipping company selected will deliver your canoe in a truck that is equipped with a crane or a lift gate as there is NO LOADING DOCK at the receiving location. Canoes must be shipped to arrive at Catholic University on Thursday, June 17, 2004 between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 pm (Eastern Time). Team members must be present with truck/trailer ready to accept the shipment during these hours or the delivery will be declined.
Outbound Shipping
All canoes must be completely packed and ready for outbound shipment from Catholic University on Monday, June 21, 2004 by 9:00 am (Eastern Time). A pre-paid bill of loading must be prepared and must accompany the crated canoe. Teams must arrange for pickup by a designated carrier on Monday, June 21, 2004 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Team members must be present to turn over the canoe to the shipping company. Again, you must ensure the shipping company selected picks up the shipment with a truck that is equipped with a crane or lift gate since there is NO LOADING DOCK.
Canoe Transport During the Competition
Each team will be responsible for transporting their canoe during the event. Arrangements for truck rental can be made through the following companies:
