Travel Expenses
As part of the sponsorship, each qualifying team will be provided with funding to help defray the cost of travel to and from the competition. The amount of financial assistance each team receives is determined by dividing equally the total dollar amount available for travel by the total number of miles traveled by all qualifying teams to arrive at a per mile amount. Each team then receives an amount equal to the per mile rate multiplied by the total number of miles from their university city to Washington, DC. This formula ensures equitable distribution of funds between all qualifying teams participating in the National Concrete Canoe Competition, but it cannot be calculated until ALL regional qualifying competitions have been completed and the winning teams from those regions have been reported to ASCE Student Services. Please note that travel stipend checks will be presented on-site by NCCC Sponsors during the National Competition in June. All registration forms, payment and waivers must be received by ASCE Student Services in order to receive the travel stipend.
