CERF is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, created by ASCE, focused on advancing the design and construction industry through innovation. In collaboration with the construction, engineering, design and environmental industries, CERF promotes and facilitates the advancement of innovation to improve productivity. In particular, CERF operates innovative technology programs to speed the use of innovation into practice in the areas of transportation, public works, infrastructure security, energy systems and applications, materials, IT and the environment. CERF is headquartered in Washington, DC.
CERF sponsors the following three separate award competitions, to highlight and recognize achievements by industry leaders.
The CERF Charles Pankow Award for Innovation recognizes those who are working collaboratively to move innovation into practice.The Henry L. Michel Award for Industry Advancement of Research recognizes exemplary individual support of R&D efforts.
