Key Contact Program

Are you interested in influencing the policy process? Helping ASCE to make its mark on legislation considered and passed in Congress and state legislatures?

ASCE Key Contacts do just that by developing relationships with elected officials. By meeting and making contacts with their elected officials in several ways, you can achieve true conversations about issues important to the profession with your elected officials and/or staff, and become a trusted advisor when bills are drafted or considered.

State Government Relations

ASCE’s state government relations program provides many resources for members to engage at the state capitol including a list of suggested activities for Sections and Branches, and the legislative tracking tool that allows you to see pending legislation of interest to the engineering profession in your state.

While frequently focusing on infrastructure, ASCE members are engaged at the state level on ASCE’s priority issues including licensing and Raise the Bar, STEM, qualification based selection of services, and sustainability.
