What is DESIGN SQUAD?
DESIGN SQUAD is a weekly engineering game show for kids that will be broadcast nationally on PBS beginning in January 2007. It will be the first-ever kids' engineering show!

The show will be unique. It will introduce kids to the engineering design process. Attracting young people to engineering through television can build lifelong interest. Television is an important medium because it is the number one source of information for Americans. The series has major funding from the National Science Foundation but it needs more. We need help from ASCE members!
ASCE's innovative educational partnership with DESIGN SQUAD's producer, WGBH Boston, laid the groundwork for the series. The success of BUILDING BIG and ZOOM INTO ENGINEERING convinced WGBH and PBS that engineering is an engaging subject for television and that engineers are great outreach partners.
ASCE is represented on DESIGN SQUAD's advisory committee and, with your help, we can be a strong part of their funding solution too.
ASCE believes that DESIGN SQUAD can make a real difference. Any contribution you can offer when you renew your 2007 ASCE dues will help give it the kick-start it needs. The dues forms include a check-off for contributions.
Thank you for your support!
