The ASCE Committee on Career Guidance (CCG) is soliciting proposals from those institutions of higher learning interested in hosting a summer engineering institute targeted toward high school students from under-represented segments of society. The institute can be an existing one planned for continuance, an entirely new one, or an appropriately adapted existing program.
All interested institutions must complete an application form (available for download in PDF format or as a Microsoft Word document) and return it, along with the required attachments, to Ty Booker at ASCE, postmarked by June 30, 2000.
Please submit three copies of the entire application package. The application package must include:
- completed application form
- one- to two-page curriculum vitae/resume for institute director
- one- to two-page summary of the proposed institute
- schedule of program activities
Institutions submitting proposals will receive responses by February 9, 2000. The maximum award amount will be $5,000.
