Regions, Sections & Branches

  • ASCE comprises 9 regions in North America, and a tenth region that includes all 23,000 members who reside outside the USA, Canada and Mexico. Regions 1-9 include 76 Sections, 160 Branches, and 130 Younger Member groups. There is a Section or Branch in nearly every corner of the continent, and more beyond!

  • Region 1

    Boston Society of Civil Engineers, Buffalo, Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers, Ithaca, Maine, Metropolitan, Mohawk-Hudson, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Rochester, Syracuse, and Vermont Sections. In Canada, Provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.

    Region 2

    Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, Lehigh Valley, Maryland, National Capital, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh Sections.

    Region 3

    Akron-Canton, Central Illinois, Central Ohio, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, Duluth, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Quad-City, Toledo, and Wisconsin Sections. In Canada, Provinces of Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut Territory.

    Region 4

    Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia Sections.

    Region 5

    Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Puerto Rico Sections.

    Region 6

    Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas Sections.

    Region 7

    Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas City, Nebraska, South Dakota, St. Louis, and Wyoming Sections.

    Region 8

    Alaska, Arizona, Columbia, Hawaii, Inland Empire, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Seattle, Southern Idaho, Tacoma-Olympia, and Utah Sections. In Canada, Provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, and Yukon Territory. 

    Region 9

    Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco Sections.

    Region 10

    The remaining geographic territory (outside the USA, Canada and Mexico).

    The Technical Region comprises the members of the nine ASCE Institutes
